Note Mastery Landmark Flashcards

Say hello to your new favorite landmark based note reading flashcards! Teaching the notes of the staff is a core part of piano lessons and music theory, but is often a point of frustration when taught using devices such as the mnemonics "every good boy does fine" and "all cows eat grass." If you already prefer focusing on landmark notes and intervals instead, these flash cards will be the perfect addition to your studio!

With my own students, I start by teaching 9 landmark notes - Low C, Low F, Bass C, Bass F, Middle C, Treble G, Treble C, High G, and High C. After that, they only need to be comfortable with intervals of a step or a skip to find all the other notes! These cards are designed specifically to help students learn to identify all the notes of the staff using this method.

TO PRINT:
Print on your home printer or through a professional printing service, such as Staples or Costco. For best quality, print on 8.5x11 inch card stock. 

For best results, select "back to back" and "head to head" options when printing. You may also choose to print normally, cut cards out, and then glue or tape matching cards together.
